Celine and the Hedi Slimane Bag Era
Celine Vipiana and her husband started Celine in 1945. It started out as a business selling custom-made children's shoes. After a few years, Celine changed her image and started creating clothes for women. Her main concentration was on sportswear, and she also sold a variety of leather accessories like handbags, gloves, and shoes. Among the notable items from these early years was the Sulky bag, which had an equestrian design and remains emblematic for Celine to this day.

Logos Celine
When Celine was first founded, it set itself out with an artwork by artist Raymont Peynet featuring a red elephant. Celine revamped its logo at this time of change to better reflect its new brand: interlaced Cs that honor the company's founder and origins while also subtly evoking the Arc-de-Triomphe. The house appears to have always welcomed change. After Hedi Slimane took over, the company welcomed a new phase, dropped the é, and changed its name to "simply Celine."
The Hedi Slimane Era
Hedi Slimane, the current artistic and creative director of the house and a former Saint Laurent employee, gave Celine a new edge in 2018 by infusing the brand with a rock and roll flair. One thing, though, never changes: Celine's heritage, regardless of whether you're still a devoted Philphile or are welcoming this new chapter in her life. Its house rules, or aesthetic standards, have changed throughout time, but they still advocate for the best materials, crisp lines and edges, minimal hardware, and clean, uncluttered designs.
Slimane's approach to design is intelligent and draws heavily from Celine's past, and it's really growing on me as we take in collection after collection. So, specifically, what kind of bags?

Celine Hedi Slimane Purses
Slimane started creating and bringing new concepts to life as soon as he was appointed. These are a few of the most prominent looks that exemplify the flare of the 1960s and 1970s.
The Collection of Celine 16
The 16 collection, which honors the address of Celine's Paris offices, is among the first that Hedi Slimane unveiled. There are three sizes available for the original "The 16" top handle bag: small, medium, and large. Each has the recognizable 16 turnlock. There are varieties of shoulder bags and crossbody bags in the assortment as well. Apart from the "Soft 16," which is, as the name implies, softer, the Celine 16 Bucket bag, which was unveiled this year, has a slouchier body than its more structured siblings.

The Collection Celine Triomphe
Undoubtedly, one of Hedi Slimane's greatest designs is the Celine Triomphe purse. It appears to have been influenced by the classic Sulky bag, and it also has resemblance to the Classic Box bag from Phoebe Philo's era. Hedi Slimane's distinctive redesign of the hardware motif honors the founder's initial logo concept, which was influenced by the Arc-de-Triomphe. This series also includes a chain bag, a shoulder bag, and the original, which is available in Medium and Nano sizes.

Celine C Collection
This collection has a straightforward form reminiscent of Celine, along with monogram hardware. The original C Bag (available in Small and Medium), a Wallet On Chain, a Quilted C Bag, a C Charm Bag, and a C Backpack are all part of the C Bag series.
